Keaton Burke Returns To Salisbury University As Assistant Swimming Coach

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University announced on Wednesday that Keaton Burke ’19 has been named an assistant swimming coach.

Burke returns to his alma mater after spending the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Fairfield University. During his lone season, the Stags women’s team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship, while the men’s team finished fourth. Burke additionally coached two of Fairfield’s student-athletes at the U.S. Open Swimming Championships, the first time the program has been represented at the meet.

During his tenure, Burke assisted the Stags with training programs, recruitment and team administration. He helped create training programs for different events while also traveling to scout and recruit prospective student-athletes. Additionally, Burke organized both men’s and women’s travel itineraries for away meets and coordinated the team’s social media presence.

Prior to his time at Fairfield, Burke served on staff as an assistant at the University of Notre Dame for the 2021-22 season.

Burke swam for the Sea Gulls for four years from 2015-19. The Dagsboro, Del. native graduated from SU in 2019 with a B.A. in Communications. Immediately following graduation, Burke served as a volunteer assistant coach for Salisbury swimming for the 2019-20 season.

The 2023-24 men’s and women’s swim season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Oct. 7, as Salisbury hosts TCNJ at the Maggs Physical Activities Center Swimming Pool for the first of three home swim meets.
