The UCLA Bruins have picked up a new addition to their breaststroke group following Emily Honng‘s verbal commitment to join the women next fall. Honng will be staying in-state next year, as she’s currently residing in Southern California, where she attends Walnut High School. Her club training base is with Brea Aquatics.

Honng is a 2-time Scholastic All-American and a NISCA All-American. For each of the last 3 years, she’s been a championship finalist at the CIF Souther Section Division 3 Championships. Last season, she was the state champion in the 200 IM and runner-up in the 100 breast at that meet.
In addition the her successes during the high school season, Honng also qualified for Speedo Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 breast and 200 breast. She holds multiple relay and individual team records at Brea Aquatics, where she swims under head coach Jim Johnson.
