The Virginia Tech Hokies have picked up another verbal commitment, this time from backstroker Connor Doyle, a native of Yardley, PA. Doyle swims club for the Eastern Express Swim Team, and will head to VT after graduating from Pennsbury High School.
This summer, Doyle swam to his first top-8 finish at a Summer Junior Nationals, clocking a 2:04.15 on the way to 7th place in the 200 back.
He also had a successful yards season last spring, swimming 7 best times at a single meet at the Eastern Zone Speedo Short Course Super Sectionals. There, he showed off his versatility and range, clocking personal bests in the 50 free, 200 free, 500 free, 50 back, 100 back, 100 breast, and 100 fly.

At Virginia Tech, Doyle will get to train with a Hokie backstroke group that includes ACC backstroke scorers Brent Benedict and Sean Workman.
Benedict and Workman both placed in the C-final of the 100 back as freshmen at ACCs, coming in 20th and 22nd respectively. Additionally, Workman swam his way to a 10th place finish in the 200 back.
