The Part-Time Swimming & Diving Coach, at the University of Delaware is a valued member within the University and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services (DIARS), upholding and embracing the departmental mission of “Inspiring Greatness Together.”

The Part-Time Swimming & Diving Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swimming and Diving coach in all aspects of Swimming & Diving functions within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services at The University of Delaware, which includes recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and planning practices and meet strategies, coaching, budgeting and planning team travel in compliance with University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.

There will be opportunities to travel for championship meets, training camps, retreats, and dual meets during the season.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Coaching responsibilities during scheduled workouts
  • Daily administrative operations of the swimming & diving program as detailed by Head Coach
  • Meet management duties
  • Video & analysis of student athletes
  • Assist in Dryland workouts
  • Recruitment of student athletes to the program (on campus, phone calls)
  • Assist with camps/clinics/lessons and other programs
  • Be in compliance with University of Delaware, CAA, & NCAA rules and regulations


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior coaching experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Willingness to obtain USA Swimming Coaching Certifications
  • Ability to handle information in a confidential, objective and professional manner.
