Head Developmental Coach

 

Charger Aquatics (Santa Fe) is a board-run 501c3 branch of Charger Aquatics.  We service Santa Fe and the surrounding areas with swim lessons, youth swimming from beginner to national level swimmers, as well as a Masters swimming program.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as the Head Developmental Coach. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a proven record of success in developing and growing a youth swim program along with lessons.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead our developmental age group swimmers, focusing on growth of the program and development of swimmers.
  • Management and running of daily practices with input from the Head Coach.
  • Coordinate and run our swim lesson program to assist the community and grow our developmental groups.
  • Average hours coaching on deck will start at 7.5-10 hours per week depending on our schedule with the pool.
  • Coaching at approximately one to two meets per month.
  • Regular meetings and work with the Head Coach to outline development progressions, plan practice sessions, meet schedules, and to discuss challenges and opportunities within the program. Maintain management of the program in a unified direction set by the Head Coach and Board.
  • Prioritizes team spirit and culture while cultivating a positive practice atmosphere at all times.
  • Attend coaching clinics and continuing education programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships and open communications with swimmers and parents.

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Competitive swimming experience.
  • Experience teaching or running lessons for beginner swimmers.
  • Coaching Experience at the Developmental, Age Group and/or Senior Level.
  • All certifications current and in good standing with USA Swimming or the ability to obtain these.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid knowledge of stroke technique and training physiology.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming and youth mentoring.

 

Compensation:

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, starting at $20+/hr with the potential for more hours and higher pay.
