Premier Aquatics of Central Kentucky seeks Head Swim Coach

Location: Premier Aquatics of Central Kentucky, Versailles, KY, USA

Premier Aquatics of Central Kentucky (PACK) is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. We are a volunteer/parent board governed 501c3 non-profit USA certified swim team consisting of 45-55 swimmers ages 6-18. During Short Course season we train at Falling Springs in Versailles,Ky and at Tates Creek Pool in Lexington,Ky for Long Course. PACK finished 5th in State for 12 and under and 8th in State for 13 and overs for the 2018-2019 Short Course Season.

Our mission is to provide a fun and supportive environment in which to train, strengthen and motivate young athletes of all abilities to be quality swimmers and responsible members of the community. Our Core Values are Proficiency, Togetherness, Growth, and Community.

Salary: Commensurate with Experience with potential for signing bonus

Head Coach Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

● Teach and demonstrate the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all relationships and act as a positive role model at all times.

● Plan, prepare for and conduct all team practices, 3 age/ability groups, 4-6 days/week in late afternoon, evening and Saturdays. Includes stroke technique and development, endurance, strength, starts and turns, and dry land workouts.

● Provide appropriate and constructive on-deck coaching during meets, including travel meets. Currently attend approximately 1 meet per month + age group state meets.

● Supervise, recommend for hire and evaluate assistant coaches.

● Work with assistant coaches to develop and implement appropriate training plans for all swimmers at all levels.

● Work with assistant coaches to maintain safety and consistent growth and development of every swimmer.

  • Meet with swimmers to discuss goals for short course and long course seasons Assist with development of schedules including practice and meet selection.
  • Plan and prepare entries for all meets.
  • Participate in meetings with peers, supervisors and support staff as requested.
  • Work effectively with Board Members to promote overall goals/mission of the team
  • Facilitate effective communication with parents, swimmers, and other swim teams about everything related to the team’s operations.

Required Current Certifications:

● Must currently hold or be willing to obtain (by the start of Short Course season) all appropriate and valid licenses/certifications and registrations for USA swimming and Safe Sport trainings to be a USA Swim Coach

Minimum Qualifications:

● Satisfactory background check and referral check.
● Experience as a swim instructor, swim coach or competitive swimmer.
● Basic computer knowledge.
● Passion to invest in the growth and development of every swimmer and the team. ● Enthusiasm for working with children ages 6-18.

Four weeks paid vacation corresponding with our seasonal schedule and major holidays off.

The above position will be open until suitable candidates are found with an anticipated start date for August 2019.

All required certification/educational costs incurred for USA Swimming Coaching certification will be reimbursed by PACK pending board approval.
