Grand Cayman — Swim School Coordinator/Assistant Swim/Synchro Coach

Job Description:

Location: Unnamed Road, Cayman Islands

Camana Bay Aquatic Club is growing.  We are looking for the right person to help us continue to expand our programs.  We are looking for someone to coordinate and develop our established swim school program as well as serve as an assistant coach for our competitive swimming and synchro programs. 

 

WE WANT YOU TO:

  • Create and maintain a positive relationship with the athletes, families and all staff involved to assist CBAC in reaching its goal of being one of the premier aquatic clubs in the region
  • Oversee the operation of the swim school as well as assisting with the  junior competitive and artistic swimming programs
  • Teach and model the importance of good sportsmanship, competitive spirit and teamwork in a positive environment
  • Be a proactive self-starter who can adapt to a changing environment and get things done
  • Inspire, mentor, and support young people to find a passion for aquatic sports
  • Motivate and train a diverse group of athletes from all age and ability levels
  • Facilitate programs while maintaining the highest safety standards at all times
  • Assist with all team operations such as, but not exclusive to, team building events, fundraising, promotions in the community, uniforms, swim meets and awards, monthly newsletters, and extra educational seminars
  • Promote aquatic sports in the Cayman Islands

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (university preferred) 
  • A current coach-member in good standing with a FINA recognized governing organization
  • A minimum of 2 years swim coaching experience (or equivalent)
  • A current and valid CPR certification and First Aid Training
  • Demonstrated ability to function at a high level in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills and experience with basic office software (TeamUnify experience preferred)
  • Leadership experience in a swim school program
  • University-level written and verbal communication skills   
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organization with the ability to manage multiple projects  
  • Amazing references from prior coaching positions
