The Lake Forest Swim Club seeking qualified candidates for several positions in our club. We are a year-round USA Swimming competitive team with a long history and tradition of quality coaching and great swimming. Lake Forest College (Lake Forest, IL) is home base for our club with practices conducted at Lake Forest College, Lake Forest Academy and Lake Bluff Park District (LC season). The city of Lake Forest is located in the far northern suburbs of Chicago.

These are Part Time positions under the supervision of our Head Coach Michael Lawrence and/or Assistant Coach Laurel Liberty. The right candidate however, could fill multiple positions on our staff.

Office Assistant (Part Time) Swimming experience not necessary! This general office position requires familiarity with MS Office or Google products (Docs, Sheets, etc), the ability to perform general office duties, and will create/manage our social media accounts. The right candidate is dependable, highly organized, enjoys public contact, works well under deadline pressure, maintains confidences, and is willing to learn more about the sport. Compensation is hourly with schedule TBD, approximately 10 hours/week..

Supervisor — Developmental Programs (Part Time) This position oversees our entry level Mini Ducks and Mighty Ducks programs with Lead Instructor responsibilities for the Mighty Ducks. Key responsibilities include managing details of staff scheduling, class rosters, curriculum development, and swimmer evaluations. Compensation is hourly.

***   Instructors — Mini Ducks (Part Time, in-water) Our Mini Ducks program is for children 5-10 years with minimal swimming experience. These classes meet twice weekly, 30 minutes. Instruction is in-water with a focus on water safety and basic instruction. Swimmers who can swim 25m freestyle and backstroke become eligible for our Mighty Ducks program.  Compensation is hourly.

***   Instructors — Mighty Ducks (Part Time, on deck) Our Mighty Ducks program is for children able to swim 25m freestyle and backstroke with fundamental technical proficiency. This class meets three times weekly for 40 minutes. Mighty Ducks learn breaststroke and butterfly, basic pace clock and practice organizational skills, and gain simple swimming strength. These swimmers graduate to our Yellow Squad, the first rung on our competitive team ladder.  Compensation is hourly.

Assistant Coaches (Part Time)

LFSC has openings for several Assistant Coach positions. The ideal candidate has 2 years of coaching experience and is willing to work with swimmers of any age and ability. These positions require regular practice and meet attendance, strong technical knowledge, and a willingness to learn.

***   Assistant Coach – Senior Squads This position will work with Coach Michael Lawrence in the planning and execution of our Senior and Bronze (Age Group Elite) Squads. A strong understanding of practice structure, swimmer development, and general energetic approach to training are necessary. Willingness to develop and implement technology feedback programs is a plus. This position requires swim meet attendance and leadership.

***   Assistant Coach — Age Group Squads This position will work with Coach Laurel Liberty in planning and execution of practice and development of our Age Group (Green and Yellow) Squads. Swim meet attendance and ability to run practices independently are required.

Professional Qualifications

2 years coaching experience or strong competitive swimming background

Current with all USA Swimming Coach Member requirements

Personal Attributes

Dependable, highly organized, enjoys public contact, works well under deadline pressure, maintains confidences, and is willing to learn more about the sport.

Competence and understanding of Hytek Meet Manager

Internet and social media usage skills
