With a name like Frostburg State, you know these swimmers are looking for a break from the winter. The school is located in rural Maryland quite near its border with Pennsylvania. They travelled down to Florida this holiday break to push their training to new heights.

However, pounding the pool was not the only thing on the menu for the Bobcats. They also found time to hit the beach and make some s’mores.

Frostburg State is a division three school competing in the Centennial Athletic Conference (CAC). Both the men’s and women’s team finished 6th at the CAC championships last year. They hope that their training from this winter will propel them to an even higher finish this year.

Ah the burg! Where the two a day winter session practices where followed by gluttonous pizza eating competitions. That’s just how we rolled in the 90’s. Besides we would swim or freeze off the calories the next day!

Frostburg Swimming alumni from the late 90s/early 2000s will have these memories from training trips:
1) if you get kicked by a horse, you get to skip practice.
2) Hot Now
3) running across the pool tarps
4) South of the Border
