It’s often purported that swimming teaches skills that help athletes in their classroom and career fields, and though it’s only anecdotal, the 2016 Forbes magazine “30 Under 30” lists are adding evidence to support that claim.
Two Michigan swimmers earned Big Ten weekly honors, as Emily Kopas was named Big Ten women’s swimmer of the week along with Purdue’s Allie Davis, and Kopas’ teammate Siobhain Haughey was named freshman of the week.
Michigan’s Chris Klein was named Big Ten men’s swimmer of the week after winning the 200 LCM IM while helping Michigan to a win at the Orange Bowl Swim Classic. Klein touched the wall in 2:05.48 to win the event.
