The 757swim team rode the strength of 2 Meet Records and 3 Event Champion swims to lock down the Small Team Top Points honors at the Virginia Swimming Age Group Championships, held this past weekend in Christiansburg, Virginia.

Kelsi Worrell Breaks GT Pool Record with 2nd Fastest 100 Fly Ever

Louisville’s Kelsi Worrell set a new Georgia Tech pool record during Friday’s preliminary session at the 2016 Women’s NCAA Championships. Worrell swam to a 49.88, the 2nd fastest 100 fly of all time, to take the top seed headed into finals.

Olivia Smoliga Breaks 50 Free NCAA Record

On day 2 of the 2016 women’s NCAA Champonships, Georgia’s Olivia Smoliga roared to an NCAA title in the women’s 50 free, setting a new NCAA record with a 21.21. That swim also put her within a tenth of the American and U.S. Open records, which were set at 21.12 by Abbey Weitzeil earlier this month.

USA’s Boudia, Johnson Win Synchro 10m Bronze at Diving World Series

David Boudia (Noblesville, Ind./West Lafayette, Ind.) and Steele Johnson (Carmel, Ind./West Lafayette, Ind.) won the bronze medal in synchronized 10-meter Thursday at the FINA Diving World Series in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Sam Dorman (Tempe, Ariz./Coral Gables, Fla.) and Kristian Ipsen (Clayton, Calif./Stanford, Calif.) were sixth in synchronized 3-meter.

2016 W. NCAA Picks: Cal 200 Free Relay to Make a Run at NCAA Record

This season, the Golden Bears have a good chance at repeating as champions in this event and making another run at the record. They’re the only team that’s been under 1:27 so far in 2016, entering the meet with their 1:26.77 from Pac-12s.

Stanford enters the 2016 NCAA Championships as the defending champions in the 400 freestyle relay and the top seed with a 3:11.44. If they want to defend that title, they’ll have to fend off some tough competition from Cal, USC, and NC State.

Water Polo National League Week 2 Rosters Announced

For the first time the USA Water Polo Men’s National League leaves the state of California as Week 2 action heads to Henderson, Nevada and the Henderson Multigenerational Pool this Saturday and Sunday. The New York Athletic Club and USA Blue lead the standings tied for first place after Week 1 competition.

The USMS Board of Directors has selected Dawson Hughes to be Masters Swimming’s new chief executive officer. Hughes joins USMS from the Orange Bowl Committee, where he served as vice president of business development.
