The University of Nebraska has garnered a commitment from Abbey Greeneway of Fox Valley Wave Swim Team. Greeneway is a well-balanced sprint freestyle that can range up to the 200, which gives the Cornhuskers a lot of possibilities:
- 50 freestyle- 23.99
- 100 freestyle- 51.91
- 200 freestyle- 1:52.66
While none of those times would have scored at the 2015 B1G Championship, Greeneway is close to making some relays for Nebraska and could develop into an individual scorer. It took 23.02 to score in the 50 freestyle and 50.17 in the 100 freestyle to score last year. Nebraska is led in those events by senior Taryn Cullura, who made a C and B final respectively in Columbus.
I’m very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the University of Nebraska. It represented everything that I was looking for in a school…the resources for athletes are amazing as well as the new College of Business that is being built right now. I’m looking forward to doing everything that I can to help my team. Go Big Red!
Greeneway has qualified and scored in all three of her year’s as a high school swimmer for Appleton North. She joins another Wisconsin swimmer, Gwen Worlton, who committed to Nebraska earlier this fall.
Congrats Abbey!
Congratulations! It’ll be fun watching you soar in Nebraska.
