Spain Bringing 10 Of Their Top Swimmers To Marseille

Spain has compiled a group of 10 of their top swimmers to compete 3rd Meeting International Open Mediterraneé in Marseille from March 7th-9th. The group will include Mireia Belmonte, Melani Costa (UCAM Fuensanta), Judith and Marc Ignacio Sánchez (CN Sabadell), Duane da Rocha (CN Mijas), Beatriz Gómez (CN Galician), Merche Peris (CN Santa Olaya), Jessica Vall ( CN Sant Andreu), Alejandro García (CN Zamora) and Carlos Peralta (Real Canoe NC).

The team will be led by José A. del Castillo, Director of High Performance RFEN, Frederic Vergnoux (Coach RFEN CAR Sant Cugat) and Bart Kizierowski (Coach Blume RFEN CAR Madrid.

It will be very interesting to see how Belmonte will perform, as the short course world record holder in the 400, 800 and 1500 freestyle is among a group eight swimmers who are currently involved in an altitude training camp in Sierra Nevada. The meet in Marseille will fall directly in the middle of this camp, which runs from February 23rd to March 21st.
