Videos have surfaced of some of the fast swims at the 2017 Chinese National Championships in Qingdao, China, which started on Monday, April 10th and will run through Wednesday, April 19th. Since the start of the meet, we’ve seen a handful of records go down.
Among the headliners are Chinese backstrokers Xu Jiayu and Fu Yuanhui, who brought the thunder with explosive swims on day 3. Jiayu cranked out a 51.86 in the 100 back, falling just .01 shy of the World Record and setting a new Asian Record en route to gold. Fu, on the other hand, took down her own Chinese National Record with a 58.72 in the women’s version of that event.
Check out the action below, including the 100 back records, courtesy of Ye Zhu’s YouTube Channel. We’ve posted all available videos of the finals in each race through day 4.
State doping in the men’s 100 back.
Nice races. None of their girls swam a 1:55. Ai yanhan is small though. Just 1.68 meters. 5,6 in height.
Ai is only 15 though. She will grow.
She also has perfect technique… Beautiful stroke.
Dude – show us the evidence or cut it out! The winner happens to be the Olympic Silver Medalist at Rio!! While I believe Murphy is still the king and will be for years to come, there is no surprise Xu is capable of dropping a top time in perhaps his most important meet before the Worlds. As I commented in a different thread, global success and popularity is good for our sport. Success by international swimmers only pushes our swimmers go even faster.
Their level is seriously getting better . Good for the sport !!!!
It looks like Li Bingjie left disappointed with her 4:02.52.
She’ll be under 4 soon
She is 15 right? Ledecky broke 4 min at 16, maybe she will break the barrier sooner than Ledecky.
State doping?
