Yu Hexin is a competitive swimmer who represents China internationally.

International Competition

2014 Asian Games

In Incheon, Yu led off the gold medal 4×100 free relay (49.40) which set a new Asian record (3:13.47). He also anchored the 4×100 medley relay in the prelims, which went on to win gold at night.

2015 World Championships

Yu swam on the 4×100 free relay, which advanced to finals and finished 7th overall (Yu splitting 48.71 in finals). He also swam the 100 free (28th, 49.50) and the 50 free (tie for 20th, 22.51).

2016 Olympic Games

In Rio, Yu swam the prelims of the 100 free, where he placed 25th overall (48.87), and 50 free, where he placed 20th overall (22.20). He also swam in the prelims of the 4×100 free relay, where he split 48.85 anchoring, but the relay was ultimately disqualified for an early take off on the second leg.

2017 World Championships

Yu swam on China’s 4×100 free relay in prelims, but the relay failed to qualify for finals, touching at 13th. He again swam the 100 free (26th,  49.08) and the 50 free (24th, 22.41).

2018 Asian Games

Yu scored his first individual medals at a major international meet in Jakarta, winning gold in the 50 free (22.11) and bronze in the 100 free (48.88). He also aided China to silver in the 4×100 free relay (splitting 47.38 en route to a new national record) and gold in the 4×100 medley (splitting 47.92 en route to a new Asian record).
