Caeleb Dressel Ties #2 50 In History With 18.23 Leadoff At NCAA Finals

2017 MEN’S NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Caeleb Dressel tied for the second-fastest 50 freestyle swim in history leading off Florida’s 200 free relay in 18.23. He now owns the 9 fastest swims in history.

Dressel ties his own 18.23 from last year, and finished just .03 off of his own American record of 18.20.

Florida led up until the final lap, and held on for second place in 1:14.88. The win went Texas, which put all four swimmers under 19 seconds.

At this point, Dressel is one big swim away from owning the entire top 10 performances in history in this event. Former U.S. Open record-holder Cesar Cielo still owns the #10 swim in history at 18.47.
