2025 Sacramento Pro Swim Series: Day 4 Finals Scratch Report

2025 Pro Swim Series — Sacramento

There haven’t been many changes in the entries heading into the final session of the 2025 Pro Swim Series stop in Sacramento. Most of the swimmers originally ranked in the top 24 have opted to stick with their events, and the heat sheets look largely as expected.

No swimmers scratched out of any ‘A’ finals, but there were a few scratches in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ finals.

In the men’s 200 IM, 17-year-old Lars Osen chose to opt out of the ‘C’ final after finishing 17th overall during prelims. His time of 2:15.31 this morning was a bit off his seed time of 2:11.98, and would have made him the fastest entry in the ‘C’ final.

In the men’s 200 backstroke, Liam Roedling from De Anza Cupertino Aquatics scratched from the ‘B’ final. He was 15th this morning with a time of 2:16.64, which would have ranked him 7th heading into the ‘B’ final. The 18-year-old’s entry time was 2:09.60, so he added more than seven seconds this during his swim.

There were two scratches in the women’s 50 breaststroke, both from the ‘C’ final. Unattached swimmers Jordan Kendler and Kaylee Mathiesen decided not to swim the event again today. Kendler posted a time of 35.60 this morning, ranking 21st overall, while Mathiesen finished in 36.30, scraping into the ‘C’ final at 24th. Their scratches promote Tessa Gardin (37.18) and Abby Cenizal (37.91) into the ‘C’ final after they did not originally qualify.

In the men’s 50 breast, three swimmers scratched from finals: Tiger Aquatics’ 17th-seeded Ethan Cole, along with unattached swimmers Joaquin Jamieson and Ben Mefford. Cole finished 17th this morning with a time of 29.72, Jamieson clocked 30.01 to qualify 21st, and Mefford touched in at 30.24 to secure the 24th spot. Their scratches promote Julian Tucker (30.38), Marcos Bravo (30.44), and Nicholas Imig (30.85) into the ‘C’ final.

In the women’s 100 free, both 13th-ranked Jada Duncan and 24th-ranked Abby Lear scratched from their finals. Duncan clocked 57.84 and Lear hit a time of 59.13 this morning. Their withdrawals allow Morgan Meyer and Lilla Kapinya to contest the ‘C’ final, and promote Huka Batbayar into the ‘B’ final, where she was originally seeded 1st in the ‘C’ final.

In the men’s 100 free, 12th-ranked Enzo Solitario, 20th-ranked Oskar Farkas, and 24th-ranked Gabe Hudgens all declared their intention to scratch. Solitario’s scratch moves Jordan Ragland from the ‘C’ to the ‘B’ final. With three scratches total, Reds Rullis, Cole Lanting, and Cole Faut have all been added to the ‘C’ final.
