2025 Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

Night Two of the Men’s NCAA Championships wrapped up yesterday, and there have already been some major “upsets” when it comes to pick’ems.

****BRIAN****  came out on top of days 1 and 2 with 77 points across both days. They sit just five points ahead of user mds who scored 72 points over the first two days.

Day 1&2 Event Winners

  • 200 Medley Relay: Texas– 1:20.28
  • 800 Free Relay: California– 5:59.75
  • 500 Free: Rex Maurer, Texas– 4:05.35
  • 200 IM: Hubert Kos, Texas- 1:37.91
  • 50 Free: Jordan Crooks, Tennessee- 17.91
  • 200 Free Relay: Tennessee- 1:12.84

Both heavy favorites teams from the day one relays lost, which threw a wrench in most people’s pick-ems entries, but it wasn’t just the top team that was an upset from your pick’ems.

Obviously Florida got disqualified in the 200 medley relay, where 369 people predicted them to win. After them, Tennessee was predicted to get 2nd, Texas 3rd, and ASU was predicted 4th. The real event did not play out that way. Texas ended up winning, which was predicted by only 32 people out of 622 responses. Tennessee did get 2nd, which was predicted by 283 people. Cal finished 3rd, which was in line with 51 picks, and ASU finished 4th, which was predicted by 206 respondents.

The 800 freestyle relay was a little more in line in terms of teams, but the favorite still lost. 441 people picked Texas to win the relay, which went to California, an outcome that was only predicted by 59 people. Texas ended up finishing 2nd which 155 of you predicted. Georgia finished 3rd which they received 89 votes for, and Alabama was 4th, only voted by 30 people.

Day two was much more predictable. Rex Maurer won the 500 freestyle after receiving 90.7% or 563 votes. Luke Hobson was also your favorite for 2nd, earning 34.5% (214). Only 15.9% (99) of people picked Lucas Henveaux to win the bronze.

The 200 IM was one of the more difficult events to predict, and the results represent that. Hubert Kos won the event which 127 of you predicted. Destin Lasco was 2nd, which was a huge shakeup, as only 52 people correctly guessed that placement for him. Owen McDonald finished 3rd, in line with 185 predictions.

The 50 free had the most accurate predictions. 591 people correctly predicted Jordan Crooks to win. 568 people were right about Josh Liendo finishing 2nd. Gui Caribe was 3rd with 142 votes.

The 200 free relay was also easy to predict the champion of. Tennessee won, which was in line with 546 votes. ASU was not the favorite for 2nd receiving only 127 votes, but they came in just ahead of Florida for the silver. Florida finished 3rd, which was correctly predicted by 129 of you.
