BOYS FRIDAY HEAT SHEET

We are now entering the third day of Winter Juniors – West. This morning’s session will feature the prelims of the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back.

There were no prelims scratches in the top 24 of girls 400 IM, and only one in the boys’ 400 IM, with 9th seed Keller Morgan opting out. Kaite Grimes is the top seed on the girls’ side with a 4:00.66, only 0.04 off Dagny Knutson’s 15-16 NAG. Maximus Williamson is the top seed for the boys, entered at a 3:42.22. Similar to Grimes, Williamson’s best is only a fraction of a second off of Michael Phelps’ 15-16 NAG of 3:42.08.

There were two scratches in the top 24 of the boys 100 fly, with the 8th seed Matthew Elliott absent from heat sheets and the 13th seed Stuart Seymour. David Schmitt is the top seed in the event by a few tenths with a 47.25, but there are seven athletes in total entered under 48.0. For the girls, Campbell Stoll is the only athlete entered under the 52.00 barrier, as she is the top seed with a 51.85.

15th seed Izzy Enz is the only athlete out of the top 24 of the girls’ 200 free. After clocking the fastest 200 free time since 2019, all eyes will be on Bella Sims in this event, who comes in as the top seed. For the boys, top seed Nathaniel Germonprez is notably absent from the heatsheets, as is 22nd seed Ian Everett. The race is shaping up to be between Maximus Williamson, who set a 15-16 NAG in the event on Wednesday, and Rose Bowl’s Rex Maurer

Germonprez likely scratched the 200 free to focus on the 100 breast, which he comes in as the top seed in. Williamson, did the opposite, and scratched the 100 breast which he was the 17th seed in. There were no notable scratches on the girls’ side. The event will be Texas freshman Lydia Jacoby’s debut at this meet.

Germonprez also scratched the 100 back, which was entered as the 2nd see, while 12th seed Stuart Seymour is also absent. Maximus Williamson enters as the top seed at 47.14, with only two other athletes behind him entered under 48.0. Teagan O’Dell is the only swimmer on the girls’ side with a sub-52.0 entry time, while the next three are seeded with 52-mids.
