2021 Florida HS 2A Roundup: Regions Highlights and State Qualifiers

2021 FHSAA 2A Region Championships

While the Class 3A and 4A Florida high schools completed their respective District Championships on Saturday, the 1A and 2A teams were wrapping up their Region meets—the second of three stages of the FHSAA championship season.

2A STATE QUALIFIERS

FHSAA CLASS 2A REGION CHAMPIONS

  • Region 1: Stanton (Jacksonville) girls, Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville) boys
  • Region 2: Bishop Moore Catholic girls, Satellite boys
  • Region 3: Clearwater girls, Clearwater boys
  • Region 4: Gulliver Preparatory girls, Pompano Beach boys

CLASS 1A REGION HIGHLIGHTS

Eastside High School’s Hannah Ahn highlighted the Region 1 competition by going two-for-two in the girls’ 50 free (24.08) and 100 fly (54.74), both the fastest out of Class 2A and the 100 fly being under the AA-C cut.

Arnold’s Luke Maggiore also had a standout swim from Region 1 in the boys’ 100 breaststroke (56.84).

Region 2 had Rockledge High School’s Elliot Weisel hit an AA-C cut in the boys’ 500 free (4:31.77), and he also was the top performer of the class in the 200 free (1:42.37).

TR Robinson High School’s Jessica Beede nailed a 1:49.70 in the girl’s 200 free to highlight the Region 3 action, while Blair Stoneburg of Jensen Beach HS put up a 4:53.28 to lead the class in the 500 free from Region 4.

Also in Region 4, Estero High School’s Giuliana Carlini posted the top time of the class in the 100 free (51.86) and 100 back (57.55).

The Class 2A State Championships will run on November 5.
