2017 Pac-12 Championships To Take Place in Federal Way, Washington

Following the trend of recent years, the 2017 Pac-12 Swimming & Diving Championships for both the men and women will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. Several NCAA programs around the country have begun releasing their 2016-17 meet schedules that feature the conference meets, which will take place in late February to early March of 2017.

This will be the 7th straight year in Federal Way for the women’s meet and the 5th straight year for the men’s. On the women’s side, the last time the meet was held in a different location was in 2010, when they competed in Long Beach, California. On the men’s side, they’ve been in Federal way every year since they last held the 2012 Pac-12 meet outside the venue in Monterey Park, California.

While they compete in the same facility, the women’s and men’s Pac-12 conference meets are held separately. The 9 women’s teams from around the Pac-12 will compete first, taking the pool from February 22nd-25th. All diving events, including men’s diving, take place during the women’s meet.

The men’s diving points then get added in the next week, as the 6 men’s swim teams compete on March 1st-4th.

Last season in Federal Way, the USC Trojan women swam their way to their first Pac-12 Championship title in program history, taking a 137-point margin of victory over the 2nd place Stanford Cardinal. On the men’s side, however, it was Stanford who won the team race, beating USC by 108 points.
