Mitch Larkin and Cate Campbell were responsible for the two World Records included in that 40, as Larkin scored a new 200m backstroke World Record mark of 1:45.63, while Campbell registered a new World Record in the women’s 100m freestyle in 50.91.

Overall, 8 Commonwealth Records were shattered, in addition to 12 Australian Records and an extraordinary 18 All Comers Records.
