Anastasia Klyarovskaya Sets NCAA Division II Record

Delta State redshirt freshman Anastasia Klyarovskay has broken the NCAA Division II Record in the women’s 200 yard backstroke on Monday evening at the Delta State Christmas Invite.

The 19-year old from Moscow, Russia, a former Russian Junior National Teamer, swam a 1:56.44, which took half-a-second off of the 1:56.90 set by Florida Southern’s Mary O’Sullivan at the 2011 NCAA Championships.

The Delta State freshmen have torn through this invite; in this same race, Kiersten Page was 2nd in 2:00.65, which gives the Statesmen two of the top four times in Division II this season.
