KINGSTON, R.I. – The Wildcats won 14 of the 16 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Rhode Island, 195-105, on Saturday in non-conference action at Tootell Aquatics Center. The Wildcats improve to 5-1, while the Rams fall to 5-4. Five Wildcats were double individual winners.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.) won two individual events and was a member of both winning relay teams. She took first in the 200 freestyle (1:56.00) and 100 butterfly (58.19).
- Freshman Sophia Routzahn (Frederick, Md.) continued her outstanding rookie season as she won two events placing first in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.66) and 200 IM (2:09.64).
- Sophomore Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) was a double winner capturing the 200 butterfly (2:08.09) and 100 freestyle (53.33).
- Senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) recorded a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.14) and the 500 freestyle (5:11.48).
- Graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) won both backstroke events placing first in the 100 back (58.25) and 200 back (2:06.08).
- Freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) won the 50 freestyle (24.31) and freshman Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) took the 1000 freestyle (10:36.11).
- The 200 medley relay team of Kasse, Lum, McKinney and senior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden) started off the meet placing first with a time of 1:47.79, while the 200 freestyle relay team of Mahoney, Stille, Pradissitto and McKinney placed first with a time of 1:33.87.

How It Happened
Senior Marta Baumann won the 1-meter dive in her final competition at the Tootell Aquatic Center in Rhode Island’s 195-105 loss to New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.
Baumann won the event with a score of 257.93 and fellow senior Willow Dunster was second with a score of 244.80. The Rams took the top six spots in the event, as Olivia Winslow (238.43), Lily Hsu (236.25), Brianna Tocco (234.53) and Carleigh Schlissel (228.60) finished third through sixth, respectively.
Hsu added a win in the 3-meter diving event with her score of 258.53. Winslow (241.95) was second while Tocco (231.90) added a fourth-place finish as Rhody scored 15 team points in the event.
Unfortunately New Hampshire won the other 14 scoring events to come away with the team victory.
Senior Class Honored Before Final Home Meet
- Before the meet, eight Rhode Island seniors were honored.
- Competing for URI in the Tootell Aquatic Center for the final time were divers Marta Baumann, Willow Dunster and Brianna Tocco.
- Swimming in their final meets were Aimee Garcia (breaststroke, IM), Shauna Killane (butterfly, IM), Sydney Joyce (distance), Camryn Kreuscher (freestyle) and Julia Renna (backstroke, freestyle)
Standouts from the Pool
- Freshman Ella Hacker had a strong second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Her time of 2:08.75 was just 0.66 seconds behind UNH’s Chiara Pradissitto.
- Hacker and sophomore Jackie Triglia finished second and third in the 100 butterfly.
- Freshman Rylee Kelly placed third in the 1000-yard freestyle with her time of 10:47.40.
- Junior Mia Bonvissuto and senior Aimee Garcia placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Garcia added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke.
- Senior Julia Renna was third in the 100-yard backstroke, while sophomore Kelsey McMenemy added a fourth-place finish in the race.
- Junior Mackenzie Thomas was third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.95. She was just 0.81 seconds behind the winner.
- Rhode Island took four of the top six spots in the 50 freestyle. Freshman Abby Zadorozny was second in a time of 24.99. Senior Camryn Kreuscher (25.40), sophomore Quinn Frost (25.53) and sophomore Casey Fusco (25.57) were third through sixth.

Rhode Island heads to Vermont next weekend for a head-to-head battle. The meet is Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.
