Day 1 Recap
Yesterday’s action at HBF Stadium saw Throssell step onto the podium twice. She took the women’s 200m freestyle in the only sub-1:59 mark of 1:58.38 and followed that up with a solid 200m butterfly winning time of 2:11.32. Today, Throssell scored a new personal best and meet record in the women’s 100m freestyle, touching in a swift 54.86. The quickest Throssell had been coming into the meet was a 55-flat, so she dipped beneath that threshold for the first time in her career. The next closest competitor was that of Rockingham’s Holly Barratt, who finished in 56.49 for the silver medal today.
24-year-old comeback kid, Blair Evans, claimed the win in the women’s 400m IM, topping the field in a time of 4:38.59. That time signifies the 3rd-fastest of her career.
