Texas is surging with a big win over Georgia, but no one can quite unseat Stanford at the top of our first Power Rankings of 2017. The Cardinal are still the team to beat, though midseason rest meets caused some major shakeups behind them.

It was all outside smoke in the men’s 200 free final. Texas’ Townley Haas, who squeaked into the top 8 this morning, and Stanford’s Grant Shoults, who got scratched in after taking 9th in prelims, were the fastest 2 swimmers tonight.
The Stanford men were on a roll this morning, putting 4 swimmers into the final of the 500 free and 5 swimmers into the final of the 200 IM.
USC had the fastest leadoff swimmer, with Dylan Carter blasting a 1:32.62 to help the Trojans to their 2nd place finish.
Santo Condorelli had a win in the 50 free for USC, as the men battled to what was initially a tie with ASU on Friday. A later re-score gave the meet to Bob Bowman’s crew. The Trojan women were victorious over the Sun Devils.
Stanzi Moseley, Becca Mann, and Tatum Wade each won 2 individual races for the Trojans in their first home meet.
The Trojans have brought in more than enough talent to keep their relays intact, and could easily find themselves matching or improving on their 6th place finish from last season.
23 American swimmers aged 17 and under, including Claire Adams (pictured above) would have scored points in the ‘A’ or ‘B’ finals at this weekend’s 2016 Women’s NCAA Division I Championships.
The girls of Harpeth Hall won both relays on day 2 of the Tennessee High School State Championships, and the Memphis University School boys shattered the state record in the 400 free relay as both programs nabbed overall state titles.
The Tennessee High School State Swimming Championships are as close as can be after day 1 on the girls side, with Harpeth Hall and St. Mary’s tied for the lead at 97.5 points.

December 10th marked day two of the Speedo Winter Junior Championships- East in Atlanta, Georgia. Events of the day are the 500, 200 IM, and 50 free.
