2016 Georgia Invite: Baker’s 1:49 Victory in 200 Back Highlights Day 3 Finals

Baker and Bilquist traded blows through the first portion of the race, with Baker taking the early lead at the 100, but Bilquist fighting back for the edge at the 150. In the end, Baker had a breakthrough, roaring to a 1:49.83 victory ahead of Bilquist’s 1:50.06.

2016 Georgia Invite: Weitzeil Leads Nation with 47.2 100 Free in Day 3 Prelims

Cal freshman Abbey Weitzeil blasted a 47.22 to top 100 free prelims on the way to an NCAA ‘A’ cut and the fastest time in the NCAA this year.

2016 Georgia Invite: Cal’s Thomas Rips 50.6 100 Fly in Day 3 Finals

On the women’s side, Cal’s Noemie Thomas was arguably the most impressive swimmer of the evening. Thomas blasted a 50.67 in the 100 fly to lead a 1-2 finish with teammate Farida Osman (51.20).

2016 Georgia Invite: FSU’s Pierce Cranks 58.2 100 Breast in Day 2 Prelims

The big story in the 100 breast was Florida State’s Natalie Pierce picking up an NCAA ‘A’ time with her 58.25, which sits as the 2nd fastest time in the NCAA this season behind only Olympic champ Lilly King.
