Tess Cieplucha had a big swim in the 400 IM to achieve her NCAA ‘A’ cut for Tennessee. She came into the meet with a best time of 4:05.43 from last season, but blew that away tonight with a 4:03.81.
After two years without breaking 1:00, Popov smashed through the 59.0 barrier for the first time in her life with a huge swim this morning in the 100 breast.

The Tennessee men split their meet with Texas and Auburn on Saturday, dropping a close meet to the defending national champion Longhorns and coming out with a win over the SEC rival Tigers. On the women’s side, Tennessee beat Auburn as well.

In the first night of competition at the 2017 Tennessee Invite, Denver’s Bailey Andison (pictured), North Carolina’s Caroline Baldwin, and Tennessee’s Erika Brown each put up swims that would have placed them in the top 8 at last year’s NCAA Championships.
The Tennessee men pulled off a close victory against host team Auburn. They also took down Wisconsin in the tri-meet. Auburn’s women were able to bring home wins against both Tennessee and Wisconsin.
