Swimming Australia has announced their roster for the 2016 Perth Aquatic Super Series. The Dolphins swim team will be taking on China and Japan over two nights at HBF Stadium in Perth in early February as they compete for bragging rights and $90,000 prize money.
The Dolphins head coach, Jacco Verhaeren, said that this meet will set the tone for the big year to come.
“Next year is the most important year on the swimming calendar for us so starting it early with the Perth Aquatic Super Series in February will form a fantastic platform for the team’s preparation and understanding of team process and routines,” Verhaeren said.
The roster includes several of the nations’ 2015 World Championship medalists including Mitch Larkin, Emily Seebohm, Cate Campbell, Bronte Campbell, Mack Horton, Cameron McEvoy, and Madison Wilson.
Swimming Australia Chief Executive Officer Mark Anderson says the Perth Aquatic Super Series will kick start a massive year of swimming for the Dolphins.
“Over the past three years the Perth Aquatic Super Series has continued to develop as a world class international swimming competition. As we head into an Olympic and Paralympic year this event will kick start one of the biggest swimming seasons yet for our Dolphins,” Anderson said.

Please note that this is not a finalised team. This is likely to take place after the Victorian titles (22-24Jan) which is likely to be the next meet during the AUS LCM season to see fields of significant depth including a return to competition by Magnussen.
The relays at this meet are all 4x50m rather than 4×100 so there will not be a chance for AUS M4X100 to set a Rio QT here.
