It won’t require a huge investment in Carolina Blue for the Weaver family when they go to Chapel Hill to cheer on Graham next fall; he will be the third generation to attend University of North Carolina and the second to swim for the Tar Heels. His father, Britt, swam on the team in the early 1980s. Graham Weaver’s verbal commitment to North Carolina carries on the family tradition of producing excellent student-athletes, as well. Britt was on the UNC honor roll in 1982-83 and Graham is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team member with 4.0 honors.

Weaver swims for SwimMAC Carolina and South Mecklenburg High School who excels in a broad range of sprints. At the 2015 North Carolina 4A State Championships, he finished third in both the 50 free (21.25) and 100 free (46.44) and anchored both South Mecklenburg’s 200 medley and 200 free relays. At 2015 Summer Junior Nationals he competed in the 50m free, 200m free, and 100m fly, and on SwimMAC’s 400m medley and 400 and 800m free relays. His top times include:

  SCY LCM
50 free 20.98 24.09
100 free 45.96 52.29
200 free 1:39.14 1:54.94
100 breast 57.46 1:05.63
