Slovenia has put together an 11-person roster for the European Championships this fall, the WSCA reports, including three of its current breaststroking national record-holders.
Damir Dugonjic, the former NCAA champion for Cal, is one of four men on the squad. Dugonjic holds the national record in both the 50 and 100 breaststrokes. On the women’s side, Tjasa Vozel (who holds the 50 and 100 breast records) and Tanja Smid (the 200 breast record-holder) are on the squad.
A few other notables: Robert Zbogar holds the men’s 200 fly record for Slovenia, and he joins Dugonjic on the men’s side. The 7-person women’s roster also includes the University of Arizona’s Tjasa Oder (a national record-holder in the 1500 free) and 50 back record-holder Ava Schollmayer.
The roster notably does not include former Olympic silver medalist and University of California star Sara Isakovic. Isakovic took some time away from the pool to focus on academics following the 2012 Olympics, but announced last winter that she is training for a comeback with Rio 2016 as the goal.
The European Championships begin in Berlin in just a few weeks. Here is the full Slovenian roster:
