Penn State Men’s Water Polo Drop Pair At Gary Troyer Tournament

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team dropped a pair of matches on day one of the 2021 Gary Troyer Tournament in California on Friday afternoon.

First Match
Score:
 Caltech 16, Penn State Behrend 5

Key Moments

Devin Lockard (Edgewood, WA/Puyallup) made nine saves on 33 shots taken by Caltech
* The Lions managed to score five goals, including four in the third quarter
* Behrend tallied one of their goals on a penalty shot
Ryan Kenney (Skippack, PA/Perkiomen Valley) registered two goals and one assist
Jack Holl (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) had three steals to go with one goal
Eugene Kruger (Alpharetta, GA/Foothill) and Lior Lyubronetsky (Gouldboro, PA/James Madison (NY)) concluded the scoring with one goal apiece
* The Beavers’ Perry Samimy led all scorers with four goals

 Chapman 23, Penn State Behrend 4

Key Moments

* Chapman scored 24 goals on 30 shots for a .600 shot percentage
* Behrend netted a goal in the first quarter and two in the fourth
* Chapman tallied more than half of their goals in the first quarter
* Holl tallied the lone goal in the first period and registered another in the fourth quarter on a penalty shot
* Kruger scored the first goal in the fourth quarter
