Olympic Trials Qualifier Jack McIntyre Commits To NC State Wolfpack

Distance freestyler Jack McIntyre will be taking his talents to Raleigh next fall with his verbal commitment to NC State. McIntyre earned his Olympic Trials cut in the 400m freestyle and also earned a 6th place finish in the 800 freestyle at the 2015 Jr National Championships.

“Right from the first contact I could see myself fitting in at NC State. Then when I arrived on campus for my visit the coaches and team were so awesome I knew my decision was made. I can’t wait to get down there next fall!”

NC state has received a handful of verbal commitments from distance swimmers this year. Anton Ipsen carried their team last year in the distance freestyle events and is adding the freestyle dominance of the Wolfpack program. They have been the premier sprinting program in the country in the last few years, and they are beginning to expand that stronghold into the longer freestyle events as well.

McIntyre’s best times in yards:

  • 200 free – 1:40.46
  • 500 free – 4:28.18
  • 1000 free – 9:24.76
  • 1650 free – 15:31
  • 200 fly – 1:53.02
  • 400 IM – 3:57.98

McIntyre represents Eastern Express Swimming and swims under Coach Mike Randazzo. He is from West Windsor, NJ and will be joining the Wolfpack on campus in the fall of 2016.
