The Notre Dame Diving Team Stars in: “Coaching Mojo”

Victory comes only through hard work, and in the video above,  Notre Dame diving coach Caiming Xie personifies this when his Mojo is stolen and he fights to get it back and save his diving team. He, and the Notre Dame Dive Team, show that success is earned, not given, and comes through hard work and focus.

The video was directed by Notre Dame diver Joseph Coumos, and was premiered at the school’s Student-Athlete awards banquet.

Having just finished his 21st season at Notre Dame, Xie is no stranger to making success happen. The men’s and women’s diving teams have always been combined, but until recently, the men’s and women’s swim teams have been separated. The Notre Dame men and women swimmers are now all on one team, united under the watch of head coach Mike Litzinger. Litzinger previously coached for the University of North Carolina, as well as University of Utah and St. Bonaventure University. This past season, both the men and women’s teams placed seventh at the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.

Notre Dame’s swim teams failed to score on either the men’s or women’s side at the 2016 NCAA Division 1 Championships, but were represented by two female divers (Emma Gaboury and Lindsey Streepey) at that meet, along with a significant group of swimmers.
