LORETTO, Pa. — Niagara women’s swimming dominated Saint Francis University in a dual meet Saturday, outscoring the Red Flash 161-82.
How it Happened
The Purple Eagles opened the meet strong, capturing the 200-yard medley relay in 1:45.21 behind the quartet of Natalie Killion, Alaina Pitton, Maria Mitova, and Paige South. They closed out the competition by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.20) with Pitton, Lila Maddux, Claire Gorton, and Killion.
The Purple Eagles were led by freshman Marty Divis, who collected victories in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.23) and 500-yard freestyle (5:08.04). Sophomore Killion also secured two individual wins, touching first in both the 100-yard backstroke (57.09) and 100-yard butterfly (58.57).
Alaina Pitton, a sophomore, added to Niagara’s success with a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.26), while senior Paige South won both the 50-yard freestyle (24.26) and 100-yard freestyle (53.03).
Megan Smith rounded out Niagara’s individual victories with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.52).
Niagara’s ‘A’ relay team of Divis, Ania Bodyl, Mary Carl, and Shani Fridman took third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.36), while the ‘B’ medley relay team of Bodyl, Grace Henely, Baileigh Racky, and Maddux finished fourth (1:53.16).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Francis picked up wins in three events.
Sara Turner won the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:10.40.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Bridget Kurtzweil finished first at 2:09.51.
Anna Bernasconi earned the team’s final win of the day, winning the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 59.32.
