Katinka Hosszu continues to exert her dominance over the Hungarian record books, lowering her own national 100 fly record with a gold-medal performance in Windsor.
Hosszu won the Short Course World title in 55.12, breaking through to knock off the Hungarian record she set back in 2014 at the Salnikov Cup in Russia. Hosszu was 55.71 at that 2014 meet. She had been right at record pace in the semifinals, but missed by just a tenth at 55.82.
It’s no joke to say that Hosszu has been completely unparalleled in Hungarian history in the short course pool. She currently owns every single Hungarian record in short course meters, along with five world records: the 100 and 200 back, and the 100, 200 and 400 IM.
Her gold in the 100 fly counts as her 7th gold medal of these Championships and her 9th medal overall. Hosszu entered 12 individual races to start the meet, and this 100 fly was her final swim in what’s been a brutal week of doubles and triples.
There are just no words how exceptional she is. You can deny her or get envy or suspect her with doping (without any proof of course) but the numbers are talking and it is amazing.
Mert Katinka a Legjobb :)))
