Katie Ledecky AUS Ki Ariarne Titmus Ke Liye, “Main Ise Rivalry Nahi Maanti”

2024 PARIS SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

Lukas Maertens ne Germany ke liye 2024 Olympic Games ka pehla gold swimming medal jeeta. Maertens ne final time 3:41.78 mein swim kiya, jo ki unke personal best 3:40.33 se thoda kum tha, jo 2009 ke World Record 3:40.07 ke bahut kareeb tha. Men’s 400 freestyle ab takka oldest World Record hai.

Maertens ne apne record miss hone ke baare mein bola aur gold medal jeetne ki khushi manai.

“A lot of people expected the record to fall – I don’t give a sh*t, I am on top now. I was right at the front the whole time and still made it to the finish. That wasn’t the case in the last few years. I let myself be beaten there. Not this time.”

Maertens ke peeche Elijah Winnington Australia se silver medal jeeta. Winnington aaj raat ke finalist mein se ek tha jo 2020 Tokyo Games ke final mein bhi tha. Tokyo mein 7th place finish karne ke baad, Winnington ne is saal rebound kiya.

“Unbelievable. Three years ago I was in the exact same lane, lane six, and I bombed out and came seventh.”

Raat ka highlight raha Ariarne Titmus (Australia), Summer McIntosh (Canada), aur Katie Ledecky (USA) ka showdown. In teenon ne apne career mein kabhi na kabhi women’s 400 free World Record hold kiya hai.

Titmus ne aaj apna Olympic title defend kiya. “I hope it goes to show, anyone can do what they want to do if they work hard and believe in themselves. And here I am, from little old Launie (Launceston), a town of 90,000, and I’m out here living the dream, so I hope that inspired kids back home.”

Final se pehle Ledecky aur Titmus ko friendly conversation karte dekha gaya, despite the Australian aur USA rivalry. Ledecky ise rivalry nahi maanti. “I wouldn’t consider it a rivalry, I think it’s a friendship if anything. We have a lot of respect for each other, and we love competing against each other,” Ledecky ne kaha. “It brings the best out of each of us and pushes each of us in training, knowing that we have each other to race these kinds of meets.”

Great Britain ke Adam Peaty apna third straight Olympic gold men’s 100 breaststroke mein jeetne ki koshish karenge. Wo aaj subah prelims mein 2nd fastest the aur semifinals mein top time swim kiya, jo unhe lane 4 dilaya final ke liye. Peaty bhi event mein World Record holder hain par 2022 aur 2023 World Championships miss ki thi.

“Tonight was just like business, so just getting out there, enjoying the crowd, and the adrenaline- it’s put me in the best lane for the final. So we’ll see what we get there tomorrow,” Peaty ne kaha.

US women ne raat ko 4×100 freestyle relay mein silver medal jeeta, aur naya American record set kiya. Simone Manuel aaj raat ki relay mein ek matr swimmer thi jo former-American record setting relay se 2019 World Championships mein thi.

“It feels good to be back here. I didn’t know if I would ever be performing at this level again,” Manuel ne kaha. “So just to kind of have the full-circle moment of being on this relay again from 2021 to now, but just in a happier and healthier place, I think is really special.”
