Julian Smith on 100 Breast NCAA Title: “I don’t have to be perfect, I just have to be Julian”

2025 Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

Julian Smith won his first individual NCAA title on Friday night touching first in the 100 breast in 49.55. After the race, Julian said that he kept telling himself he didn’t have to be perfect, which ironically is what his season has been in this event. The Florida senior has now won the SEC and NCAA titles and set the NCAA record in the event.
