Asphalt Green Water Polo Club, located on the Upper East Side of New York City, is seeking an
experienced and energetic part-time coach to assist our coaches daily in building and fostering an
environment of excellence.
With year-round practices and participation in multiple tournaments, our program provides
athletes ages 7 to 18 the opportunity to compete at high levels and develop their skills in our
Olympic-size pool.
Our coaches will help uphold Asphalt Green’s overall mission by transforming lives and building
community through sports, fitness, and play for all. Our athletes have gone on to compete
internationally at the World University Games and the U16 World Championships.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all parties
• 4-10 hours of weekly on-deck coaching at our Upper East Side campus
• Help athletes develop leadership and teamwork
• Help create champions in and out of the pool.
• Assist with competition entries and fees, and help organize team travel
• Collaborate closely with head coach
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other members of organization
• Stay up to date with latest technique and training methods in the sport
Qualifications
• 2+ years of coaching experience
• Strong group organizational skills
• A member in good standing with USA Water Polo
• Collegiate level water polo experience
• Club level water polo experience
