40% Oversee all aspects of recruiting. Daily communications with assistant coaches; Develop and maintain a system for recruiting and assigning efforts to staff members; Coordinate the daily recruiting operational and logistical processes of the Men’s & Women’s program; Create and update recruiting lists in cooperation with the coaching staff; Manage recruiting database to include all necessary information; Oversee program in regard to securing, evaluating and forwarding all transcripts to compliance for review; Maintain recruiting board for long term planning; Coordinate and review all mail, video, graphics and social media platforms to promote the program; Complete all necessary required forms required in the recruiting process; Schedule and plan home visits, school visits and on campus official visits; Plan, schedule and coordinate summer evaluations with respect to competition travel domestically and internationally; Utilize the transfer portal to identify and evaluate prospective transfer student-athletes; Develop relationships with recruits and USA Swimming club coaches.
30% Work with staff members to learn training philosophies for Sprint, Middle Distance & Distance athletes. Assist with on deck training. Work with coaches to understand competition line ups for dual meets, SEC, NCAA Championships.
15% Assist with the assessment for the quality of life of student-athletes in conjunction with head coach, assistant coaches and support staff. Further assist in team building activities and culture development.
10% Assist with goal meetings for individual athletes and Freshman acclimation.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with one year experience coaching at the club, collegiate or professional level; Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree; Two years coaching at the club and/or collegiate level.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Travel is required.
