The Denver Athletic Club is searching for a full-time Aquatics Manager!

The Aquatics Manager will be the director and supervisor of all pool operations and aquatic programming.  Specifically, the Aquatics Manager will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting, selection, training, supervision, promotion and discipline and discharge of all swim coaches and swim instructors
  • Creating all work schedules
  • Keeping staff informed of club matters and procedures
  • Maintaining the pool facility (ensuring proper temperature and chemical balance of the pool, hot tub and cold plunges, deck cleanliness and maintaining the office and storage areas)
  • Opening/closing the pool according to procedure and ensuring hours of operations are communicated to members
  • Purchasing, inventory, and organizing equipment and working with maintenance engineers to ensure all pool machinery is in working condition
  • Evaluating programming and increasing participation in existing aquatics programs and developing new programs as needed
  • Handling all registration procedures
  • Organizing special events and generating interest in programs with marketing
  • Monitoring and maintaining the yearly aquatics budget
  • Creating articles for the quarterly newsletter
  • Attending seminars and conferences and participating with professional organizations like USA Swimming and COMSA
  • Enforcing health and safety standards as set forth by the State of Colorado
  • Lifeguarding as necessary
  • Completing duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

The job requirements for this position are:

  • Must be CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and Lifeguard Certified
  • Must be a USA Swimming Certified Coach
  • Must be a Coach Member of CO Masters Swim
  • At least two years of experience in a management or leadership position
  • Ability to travel to swim meets throughout the year

This is a salaried, non-exempt position paying anywhere from $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year, plus commission.  The Aquatics Manager should be available to work at least 40 hours a week and meet the demands of traveling to swim meets around the country, as well as filling in for swim coaches or instructors if needed.
