The final day of NCSA Summer Junior Nationals at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN was fairly timid in terms of record breaking performances. Despite this, we still saw a number of quick times posted.

The women’s 50 back was highlighted by St. Croix’s Mickayla Hinkle touching first in 29.77,  just .02 from taking down Hannah Whiteley’s record time of 29.75 set last year.  Hinkle took 3rd and 14th in the 100 back and 100 fly last night, respectively.

On the men’s side of things, Old Dominion’s Logan Burton swam to a first place finish in the 50 back in 26.67. The Eastern Michigan University commit vastly improved on his performance last night in the 100 back, having placed 8th in that event.

In the women’s 200 IM, Hershey’s Meaghan Raab put down a time of 2:17.44 for first place.  The future Georgia Bulldog was coming off a successful day four campaign in which she took second in the 100 back, seventh in the 200 breast and third in the 100 fly.

The men’s 200 IM saw Redbird Swim Club’s Jake Miller earn his third NCSA title of the meet, swimming to a time of 2:05.13.  The Louisville commit has had a monstrous week in Indy, tying a meet record in the 400 IM and lowering the 100 free championship mark.  Miller would go on to place 6th in the 50 free final with a time 23.94.

Purdue commit and freestyle virtuoso Abby Jagdfeld swam to an impressive first place time of 26.18 in the women’s 50 free, narrowly missing the championship record of 26.16. The Waukesha Express swimmer swept the 50, 100, 200 and 400 freestyle events this week in Indy, and will add fantastic depth to an already strong Boilermaker squad next year.

The final event of the night saw Saint Andrews sprinter Gage Kohner touch first in the men’s splash-and-dash with a blazing 23.62, edging out Justin Rich of Poseidon by just .02.  The Northwestern commit took fourth in last night’s 100 free final with a time of 52.09.

Tonight’s final results have yet to be posted on the NCSA website, though you can still view them on Meet Mobile app.
