Great Relay competition to raise money for after-school program

FINIS, Inc., a worldwide leader in technical swimming development, is proud to announce that on December 5th, 2015 from 10am – 1pm EST at Columbia University, NYC the Trident Swim Foundation will be kicking off the 2nd annual Great Relay competition to raise money for their after-school program that combines academic support and swimming for underprivileged kids.

Trident supports two programs in NYC and a newly opened site in Los Angeles, California.

This year Olympians Kim Vandenberg (USA 2008), Sophie Edington (Australia 2012), Bruce Hayes (USA 1984) and Juan Valdivieso (Peru 2000, 2004) will be joining the enthusiastic group of racers!

The Great Relay is the biggest, longest distance relay competition in the United States. Teams of 8 or more see how fast they can swim as a relay for 5,000 yards/meters. There are many different types of teams that can compete to be ranked and receive recognition nationally.

The Trident Swim Foundation (www.tridentswimfoundation.org) sponsors the Great Relay to encourage fun competition in swimming for all ages and to raise awareness of the need for better swim lessons, competitive swim teams, and academic support in the inner cities of America.

If you would like to add a team for this year’s event or sponsor a Great Relay event at your pool, please contact Kristin Gary at [email protected].
