Goa Me National Record Ke Liye Tide Ke Against Swimming

Para Swimming Federation of India ke founder and CEO V. K. Dabas ka suggestion hai ki agar kisi ko iss baat ka proof chahiye ki para sports life change kar sakte hain, toh Navdeep Singh ko dekh lein. Navdeep National Para Swimming Championship ke opening ceremony ke liye Goa me the, aur Paris Paralympics Games me unki achievements ko dekhte huye Jahan unhone F41 category me ak rare javelin fek jeeta tha, ye surprising tha ki unhone attention grab kiya.

Ak baar unki condition (dwarfism) ke liye taunt maara gaya aur kaha gaya, ki agar aap suicide kar lein toh better hai. Navdeep ab sabhi ki aankhon ka centre ban gaye hain, money, fame and massive respect jeet rahe hain. Dabas ne kaha, “Agar wo difficulties face kar sakta hai aur life me aage badh sakta hai, toh doosre log usko follow kar sakte hain.” Dabas Paralympic Committee of India me para swimming ke chairman hain. 518 athletes participate kar rahe hain, jo ak record number hai : 28 states se, ak aur record. Vishwamitra Awardees ka manna hai ki physical disabilities (S1-10), visual disability (S11-13) and intellectual disabilities (S14) jaise subjects me ye numbers encouraging hain, lekin abhi aur karne ki jarurat hai.Gwalior, Jahan last national championship held ki gayi thi, me 464 swimmers ne participate kiya tha.

Inn swimmers ne yhan tak pahochne ke liye mushkilon se ladai ladi hai. Unke liye pool me utarna aur compete karna easy nahi hai. Pahli baar 40% new swimmers part le rahe hain. Ye bahot bada number hai, lekin lakhon athletes abhi bhi khelon ke baare me nahi jante hain ya nahi jaante ki khel unki life me kya kar sakte hain. Khel ak bahot bada tool hai jiska use logon ko empower karne ke liye kiya ja sakta hai.

Dabas me kaha, “Iske bahot saare benefits hain.” Rajasthan ne 64 athletes ke saath sabse bada group bheja hai. Maharashtra, Karnataka me bhi badi sankhya me athletes hain, jabki Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh ne pahli baar 1-1 athlete ko bheja hai. Goa ke 4 athletes bhi participate kar rahe hain. Para swimmers ne se 3- Melvin Mendes, Mangesh Kuttikar and Sheron Figarado- S9 category me h, jo mild physical impairments wale swimmers ke liye designated hai.

Apne career ke dauran Kuttikar ne national level par kai medals jeete hain. Thakur ne kaha, “Goa me 20 se jada special schools hain, 40 se jada resource rooms hain. Humein awareness create karne aur sabhi ko para sports ke benefits ke baare me batane ki jarurat hai.”
