eBay Items Of The Week: Tickets To The 1932 and 1952 Olympics

Recently we’ve been searching for some swimming gold mines on eBay, and we’ve found a few more.

The first item is an admission ticket for swimming at the 1952 summer Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland. Back in 1952 there were only a few swimming events available and the US team came in first with a total of four golds, two silvers, and three bronze medals. Most notably Ford Konno earned himself three medals: a silver in the 400m freestyle, a gold in the 1500m freestyle, and a gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay. Konno, from Hawaii, swam for Ohio State in college.

Going back even further in swimming history, there’s a ticket available from the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1932. At this Olympics the Japanese men dominated the competition winning every event except for the 400m freestyle which was won by American Buster Crabbe. The US women won every gold besides the women’s 200m breaststroke which was won by Australian swimmer Clare Dennis. Helene Madison won three gold medals for the US with a win in the 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle, and 4x200m freestyle relay.
