Day 5 Contest: Upsets Wreak Havoc on Picks

I scored this one right.  I promise.  But it wasn’t pretty for most.  Day 5 ended in a three way tie with 22 out of a possible 39 points for shona, KellyL and Thorjax who will collect some sweet Engine gear for their swimming savvy.

Scott Weltz‘s 200 Breast win surprised many of our entries… all of them, in fact.  Only 3 entries out of 550+ picked Weltz making the top 3.  Only tkrichar picked Weltz on the team at second.  Clark Burckle (2nd place finisher) was only slightly more popular, with most picking Eric Shanteau to win.

The women’s 200 Fly was picked well.  Cammile Adams (winner) was the most popular pick for first and Kathleen Hersey (runner up) was also a popular choice.  Many had Teresa Crippen in the top 3, but few had Kim Vandenberg who finished in third.

Cullen Jones and Matt Grevers surprised nearly everyone with their second and third place finishes in the men’s 100 Free, killing many entries.  Nathan Adrian was the first-place runaway favourite as the number one seed and he did not disappoint with his win.
