Daniella Palamaro, a senior at North Rockland High School, has joined Sacred Heart University’s class of 2026 verbal commitments.
“I’m proud and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my
academic and athletic careers at Sacred Heart University. I just
wanted to say thank you to my coaches, family and friends for all
their help in my process. Can’t wait to be a pioneer!!”
Palamaro trains with Empire Swimming in New York. Recently, she finished 12th in the 100 breast (1:08.73) in December at the 2021 NE CRA Winter Invitational where she also placed 16th in the 200 IM (2:13.35).

- 100 breast – 1:07.66
- 200 IM – 2:10.30
- 200 breast – 2:28.66
- 100 fly – 59.89
Based on the 2021 Northeastern Conference Champs results, she has B final potential in the 100 breast where her lifetime best would have placed 3rd in the B final, and the 200 IM and 200 breast, where her lifetime best times would have placed 5th in both B finals.
Palamaro looks to strengthen SHU’s sprint breaststroke group. They only had one B finalist in the 100 breast last season and that was current junior Jillian Pusateri who posted a 1:09.14 to place 7th in the heat. Rosemery Nieto has also been making moves in breaststroke events this year as a freshman, winning the 100 breast and 200 breast during SHU’s dual meet against LIU with times of 1:08.95 and 2:30.79, respectively.
Junior Casey Barret leads the Sacred Heart 200 IM squad; she placed 5th in the NEC Championship A final last season with a 2:07.42.
The Sacred Heart women are coming off a 4th place finish at the 2021 NEC Conference Championships under head coach John Spadafina.
Palamaro joins Emma Davis, Leila Sofiane, and Olivia Ronaghan as part of SHU’s class of 2026 commitments.
