Boston College Men Maintain, Women Grab Lead After Day 2 of Terrier Invite

Boston College holds the team lead for both men and women through two days of action at the Terrier Invite. The school has not released daily recaps as of this publication. Find releases from second-place teams Northeastern (women) and Georgetown (men) below.

BOSTON – The Northeastern swimming and diving program finished up the second day of competition in the Terrier Invitational at the Aquatics Center at Boston University.

  • Starting off the night for the Huskies, the quartet of Anna VerlanderMarcela ScaramuzzaJamie Koo and Kotoko Blair swam to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:41.19 in the A final.
  • The quartet of Teagan OsgaNicole LinellEmily Cooley and Cambria Semmen placed first in the B final at 1:44.58, while Kate CosgroveElisabeth BendallHannah Seward and Kira Parker finished at 1:43.92 in the A final.
  • In the A final of the 400-yard IM, Devon Muldoon swam a season best 4:25.05 to finish in third place and improved 4.52 seconds from her preliminary time.
  • Alyssa Reilly placed first in the C final of the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:46.92.
  • In the B final, Francesca Arciniegas finished in fifth place, with a time of 4:36.05, while Coco Fraser came in at 4:40.43. Daphne Peterson came in at 4:50.51.
  • In the C final of the 100-yard fly, Nikita Pelletier finished in second at 57.13 at a photo finish, while Sofia Long finished in fifth at 58.27. Both swimmers improved their time from the prelims.
  • Francesca Arciniegas swam in the B final, finishing at 57.31.
  • In the A final, Seward picked up a win with an event best time of 54.00, and Koo came in third at 54.72.
  • Annika Ruehlicke swam to a 1:56.65 time in the B final of the 200-yard freestyle, while Grace Miller (1:51.54) and Emily Cooley (1:53.57) competed in the A final.
  • Nicole Linell finished first in the B final of 100-yard breaststroke at 1:06.17, while Lena Wang (1:06.43), Stella Urness (1:06.71) and Blair (1:07.05) competed in the B final as well. In the A final, Scaramuzza finished second at 1:02.85.
  • Verlander picked up a win in the A final of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.14, while Kate Cosgrove finished in fourth with a time of 54.78.
  • In the B final, Parker finished at 57.92. In the C final the Huskies had Katherine Hong (58.64) and Cambria Semmen (58.90) competed.
  • Capping off the night, Seward, Verlander, Scaramuzza and Miller swam to a second-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:29.20.
  • Muldoon, Ruehlicke, Pelletier and Cooley finished at 7:48.42 in ninth place.

The Huskies will be back for the final day of the Terrier Invitational tomorrow, Nov. 20., currently sitting in second place in the event.

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team wrapped up day two of the Terrier Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday. The women’s team currently sits in third with 725 points while the men’s team is in second with 947 points.

WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Erin Hood earned a first-place finish of 4:17.50 in the 400 IM.
  • Angelica Reali picked up a second-place mark in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.33.
  • Sophia Ribeiro added a third-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.68.
  • Hood, Ribeiro, Sammy Hagberg and Ryan Evangelista capture a first-place victory in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:29.13.

MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tristan Gess captured another first-place finish in the 3m dive, scoring a 305.55 in the event. Charlie Reichle also picked up a third-place finish with a score of 299.85.
  • John McEachernBailey De LuiseMichael BaldiniConnor Brennan picked up a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.10.
  • Baldini earned a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.83.
  • Conor Jellig and Andrew Babyak finished third and fourth in the 200 free, posting times of 1:40.97 and 1:41.22, respectively.
  • Du Luise captured a first-place finish of 55.36 in the 100 breaststroke while Ansen Meyer added a third-place finish of 55.70.
  • Babyak, Jellig, Jack Brearton and Jack Januario finished second in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:42.91.

UP NEXT
The Hoyas will return for day three of the Terrier Invitational with a 10 a.m. start time for the prelims and a 5 p.m. start for the finals.
