Yuri Kisil

Yuri Kisil is a freestyle specialist from Canada. He currently swims for the University of British Columbia.

International Career

Kisil has been a staple on the Canadian team since 2015 where he was a multiple medalist at the Pan American Games. That same year he made his World Championship debut where he won a bronze medal in the 4×100 meter mixed medley relay.

2016 Olympic Games

At his Olympic debut, Kisil made the final as a member of Canada’s 4×100 meter freestyle relay. He joined Santo Condorelli, Markus Thormeyer and Evan Van Moerkerke to touch in 3:14.35. In the 100 meter freestyle he finished joint 10th in 48.28. He also swam the 50 meter freestyle where he finished 35th in 22.50.

2017 World Championships

Kisil was a member of the Canadian 4×100 meter mixed medley relay (Kylie Masse, Richard Funk and Penny Oleksiak) that again won the bronze medal. He swam 47.71 for the relay split to touch third for Canada behind USA and Australia. He won his second bronze medal of the week in the 4×100 meter mixed freestyle relay where he lead off in 48.51. He was joined by Javier Acevedo, Chantal Van Landeghem and Penny Oleksiak. He also lead of on the 4×100 meter freestyle relay for Canada that finished 6th.
