Nick Silverthorn
Born Dec. 4, 1995 to parents, Scott and Carolyn, Nick Silverthorn can swim a little bit of everything. Although versatile, the University of California, Berkeley freshman has recently been specializing his breaststroke. Originally from Hayward, Calif., Silverthorn swam for the Pleasanton Seahawks and with Berkeley being down the road, he didn’t need to look far for his perfect college fit. He’s currently undeclared on a major, but he’s intending to study Business. When stepping on to the Berkeley team, Silverthorn was ready to be apart of the team atmosphere, and he’s most excited to compete in the championship meets at the end of the season. Standing 6’3″ and weighing more than 200 pounds, Silverthorn has three 11-12 National Age Group Records and has the third-fastest 100 breaststroke time in the history of high school swimming. Silverthorn was College Swimming’s sixth-ranked recruit in the 2014 recruiting class, primarily for his immediate impact in the breaststroke events.

National Competition
The Granada High School graduate holds the third-fastest time in high school swimming history. With three NAG records to his name, he finished third at the 2013 CIF North Coast Section meet as a junior, but all three swimmers in the event were under the national record. Granada was an Honorable Mention in the 2014 Swammy Awards: Boys’ High School Team of the Year.
